Financial Aid

Mississippi State University distance education students pay the in-state tuition rate no matter the state of residency.

Financial Aid is available to those who qualify. For additional information, visit the Department of Student Financial Aid website. When you reach the student financial aid website, click on the "FAFSA Video" and follow the instructions to file and submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

To complete the free application, visit the FAFSA website.


All active military distance students should obtain a Tuition Assistance Authorization (TA) form from their base Education Officer. Once the form is completed, students should mail this to MSU's Sponsored Student Office at

For Military Veteran's assistance, please visit the Center for America's Veterans for required documentation and additional information.

Students who wish to receive VA educational assistance for the first time should contact the Veteran's Benefits Coordinator Melanie Owens, 662.325.2024 or to determine which forms need to be completed.

Senior Citizens

Tuition waivers are available for senior citizens. Please read the senior citizen tuition waiver policy to see if you qualify.

MSU Employees

Tuition remission is available for MSU employees. Please read the MSU employee tuition remission policy to see if you qualify.
