- Is Federal Financial aid accepted?
Yes, students who qualify for federal financial aid can apply it to the BOMP. Please note that taking the scheduled 2 courses per semester classifies you as a part-time student for financial aid purposes.

- How much does the program cost?
If you tally the tuition and fees and multiply by the number of hours you plan to take (52 for the certificate or 124 for the degree), you would get a rough estimate. That does not include textbooks, software, etc., but not all classes have a required textbook. Tuition and fees are subject to change. - What are the admission requirements?
If you have never attended college, you must have completed the College Preparatory Curriculum with an appropriate GPA. If you have previously attended college, you must have completed the required 30-hours of core courses with a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
- Are there prerequisites to be considered for admission?
No specific courses are required for admission. Students who meet the MSU admission requirements are eligible to register for the BOMP courses.
- Is this program offered completely online?
Yes, all 17 meteorology courses are offered entirely online. Only certificate seeking students have a campus requirement. This is the 3 day workshop held on the MSU campus upon completion of all 17 meteorology courses.
- How long does it take to complete the program?
Students take 2 courses per semester to complete the program in 3 years.
- Do you accept transfer credit?
All courses taken at another accredited institution are recorded on the student’s permanent record; however, the student’s academic advisor determines the applicability of the work toward degree requirements.
- Do you give credit for life/work experience?
No, we do not award college credit for life/work experience.
