Prerequisites

Students must complete the prerequisite courses listed below or have equivalent credit with grade of a "B" or better. Because our graduate programs in business are accredited by the AACSB, all students are required to take a set of basic business courses, or prerequisites, prior to taking their core MSIS courses. These prerequisites may be taken before entering our program or while enrolled.

We offer graduate survey courses online in place of most undergraduate prerequisites. These are especially designed for non-business undergraduates. Students who do not have an undergraduate degree in business can streamline their programs by substituting graduate level survey courses for these prerequisites. Each survey course replaces one or more undergraduate prerequisites.

If you would like a pre-application evaluation of your transcript and prerequisites, you can e-mail (csmith@business.msstate.edu) or fax (662-325-8161)your transcript to Cindy Smith.

Please note that a pre-application evaluation does not imply acceptance into the program. The Distance MSIS program requires classified students to have an Admission Criteria Score of 1110 or higher.
