Awards in the amount of $500 are given to students who demonstrate records of excellence in academics, leadership, and service. Scholarships are presented each spring for use in the following summer or fall semester.
Eligibility requirements for the scholarship are as follows: U.S. citizenship, full-time enrollment in a master's or doctoral program at the university, and an overall 3.0 GPA or above. Past awardees have come from a wide range of academic disciplines.
Students may apply via Academic Works and will be required to submit a personal statement outlining their career plans, leadership and service to their community, a CV, and three letters of recommendation. The scholarship application closes on March 1, 2018, which is a university-wide deadline for the Academic Works system.
