The practicum and internship are both critical components of the Clinical Health Promotion and Wellness Coaching Certificate program.
The practicum takes place in MSU's Longest Student Health Center on the Starkville, MS, campus during the spring semester. Students will work alongside health professionals to observe wellness coaching sessions conducted with patients at the MSU Health Center. Students are required to be on campus Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays throughout the spring semester. If needed, students may attend the Friday class meeting remotely.
During the practicum experience, students are responsible for making their own housing and transportation accommodations. MSU's Office of Off-Campus Student Services is a great resource for finding rental properties near the Starkville Campus. However, if you need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our program staff.
The internship will be through a specified health care facility within the state of Mississippi where students will conduct wellness coaching. This is a ten-week, field-based internship that takes place during the summer term. Internships will be assigned and coordinated through your advisor.
